This is a rather contentious article. There are many out there that say that the pick up community helps and improves people’s skills with women. Unfortunately, for a lot of people out there, it does the opposite. By reading the wrong things, taking the wrong things on board, a fairly normal, perhaps shy guy can become a loud mouthed socially maladjusted weirdo very quickly by reading the wrong pickup articles .
This usually takes the form of:-
Wanting to be the “Alpha Male” in every setting; going out of his way to “AMOG” anyone and everyone. The result: the guy looks like a sensitive prick, taking everything too seriously.
Not paying for anything when taking a girl out on a date: Girls are pre-disposed to looking for men like their fathers. Unless you want to be an absent bum father figure, treat your girl from time to time. Of course, a girl should have to earn those treats but it doesn’t mean you can’t be nice and go out on a limb every now and then.
Not allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Guys are taught they should be macho and unresponsive. Unresponsiveness can be construed as coldness. That doesn’t mean you need to be a whiny bitch, but it’s important that you have a sense of vulnerability and show a little emotion from time to time.
