I was invited to go to the Johnny Soporno talk by two friends of mine. I wasn’t particularly bothered about going but they both seemed very enthused about him. I had never heard or read any of his stuff so i went to see what it was all about.
Johnny is quite a soft spoken and happy chappy and from a certain angle resembles Tony Soprano. He maintained a friendly and open demeanour and sported a pleasant smile throughout. When he spoke, everyone listened, not because he was quiet, but because you could hear the conviction in the way he spoke about that which he was speaking. When we stopped for the first break it was like coming out of a trance. I could barely string a sentence together because there was so much stuff going through my head.
Johnny covered a lot.
Although i don’t agree with everything Johnny said, I do believe that most of what he said was spot on. I didn’t take many notes because i was too absorbed in what he was saying. It’s not often that you hear someone speak ideas that are so simple to grasp and implement that you wonder why you weren’t doing them in the first place.
